Results

There is another website out there that lists all of the results that I have accumulated throughout the year. I try to put all of the times that I can get my hands on. You can look at the site and see where you stand throughout the state, class, district. Remember these results are only from schools that input the information in the website. Go to athletic.net you will then click on the 'High School' link on the left side. You will then go down on the page and find our school in Class 2. If you have any questions please let me know.

By the hair on her chinny chin chin!

Well as I have said earlier in a post, Sarah was on the verge of breaking the 800m record. Well last night at the Show-Me Conference track meet she beat the record by a meer 3 hundredths of a second. She ran a great race and was not really pushed on the second lap, so she got that record on her own desire. She overtook the record set by Renee Bryant, Sarah ran a 2:26.95 while Renee ran a 2:26.98. Congratulations to Sarah for winning and setting your Fourth record at RHS. Sarah is a remarkable athlete, as she sit two different records this year without even being pushed. Good luck and stay tuned for more record breaking performances.

Blair Oaks Relays

This is one weird meet. This meet is not like any other meets that we go to. It really is a lot of fun except if veers from the norm. There are some events that are not usually staged at most meets, for instance the Sprint Medley relay of 100, 100, 200, 400. The same distance as a 4x200 relay except the runners run different distances. As a team we did pretty well considering the amount of teams that were present. Here are the top 8 finishers from Saturdays meet.

Girls

1600 1st 5:37.89 Sarah Koestner
3200 2nd 12:55 Sarah Koestner

Results from the Linn Invitational

So does weather effect the way a person performs in track and field? Well, after this last meet we seen some major differences in the times in most of the events. So, yes weather does play an important role. At the Linn Invite we has some great weather, warm for sprinters yet cool enough to be great for the long distance kids. After the first meet we had some times that were not where I was expecting them to be, and that worried me a great deal. So I was contemplating things about our training. Then we has this meet last Thusday and things were back on track and that put things to ease in my mind. From my earlier post we had a great performance by Sarah Koestner in the 3200 by setting the 3200 school record by 9 seconds. We also had a good performance by Alex Earls in both the shot-put and discus. Alex is just 1' away from the discus record. This record is also in danger of being broken within the next week or so. So congrats to all of the runners and throwers, we had a great meet and hopefully we will have more to come.

Sarah Koestner breaks another school record.

Wow is all i have to say. Sarah Koestner is going to be a legend at Russellville High School in the years to come, and at Russellville you have to be good no Great, to be considered a legend. With the past legends like Danny Bryant, Jim Heady, Carl Gilpin, and Zach Bryant to name a few, to be in the talk with those you have to have done some great things on the track. Sarah, in just the 2nd meet of the season has broken her third school record in the 3200m run. The record, which was set by Jamie Flessa at 12:35, was smashed by 9 seconds to 12:26. She has also broken the 1600 meter record last year, and her sophomore year she helped set the 4x800 relay record. There is still another record in her reach, so stay tuned for the news on that. Sarah you will go down in the history books here at RHS. We are all so proud of you.
